TAXPAYER QR CODE GUIDE:

On how to get the Taxpayer QR code and what it is used for it, please go to LHDN's guide on generating the code.

When issuing invoices and cash bills in HyperLedger 7, you may use the search account/customer function to use the Scan Taxpayer QR function. To search for an account, double-click on the Account No. column. If you have added (CTN) in the Special Options in Cash Bills, you may double-click on the Customer No. column to search for a customer from the Customer List Ledger that you have defined when you created the ledger.

When you click the Scan Taxpayer QR button, it will ask you for a QR. The most direct way is to use a 2D barcode scanner to scan the Taxpayer QR code provided by the customer. If the code scanned is valid, you will see details of the taxpayer. Clicking Select will open a new account or customer automatically and the details will appear in your invoice or cash bill.

Although using a barcode scanner is the most direct way to scan the qr code, sometimes it may take a few times to successfully scan it if the photo quality of the qr code is poor. If you do not have a barcode scanner or failed to scan the qr code, you may consider the following other options:

1. Use the Camera app in Windows 10/11 to scan the qr code in barcode scanning mode if your computer has a camera. If you do not have a camera, you may add a USB camera (very cheap) to your computer. If the Camera app successfully scanned the qr code, click the text that appears to copy it, and then paste (by right-clicking) it into the QR column.

Tip: Pin the Camera app to the Taskbar for easy access.

2. Use your phone to scan the Taxpayer QR code, copy it and send the text via Whatsapp or e-mail. If you are using Whatsapp, you need to have either Whatsapp Web or Whatsapp for Windows that is either linked to your phone or someone else's phone. After sending out the qr code via Whatsapp, open Whatsapp Web or Windows to copy the qr code and then paste it into the QR column.

The success rate of scanning with a camera or phone is high, much better than a barcode scanner, because of qr code quality issue. A downloaded QR code into a phone is easier to be scanned by barcode scanner than a photo taken of the qr code from a computer screen.

A valid Taxpayer QR code should give out a 48-character long.text.

It would be ideal if customers present their Taxpayer QR codes on the day of purchase, but if not, customers may send the QR codes to you later, so you should put an instruction in your invoice or cash bill to ask the customer to send the qr code to a Whatsapp number or e-mail address when requesting for e-invoices.
